We’ll be back in Northern California this year, joining forces with a friend and stylish retailer to bring some unique tomato varieties to a new audience.

AND WE’LL DO IT DIFFERENTLY!

With our host, Emily Joubert Home & Garden, we’re breaking new ground with a unique event set up that we’ve never offered before. We’ll do it “like farmer’s do it”.

What’s that mean? We’re having a plug sale and featuring only 12-15 varieties in an all-star line up. These will NOT be planted 4 inch pots. We’ll send you home with seedlings lightly heeled into small compostable pots and you’ll need to plant them right away.

Feel like a farmer yet? This is the same size plant that goes into fields all over CA (and the world). Plugs are easy to plant, easy to irrigate completely (important in the first weeks) and quickly catch up with 4” plants in our own field trials.

Yes, that’s different for us but we’re testing the waters here and we think this is the most effective way possible to offer cool varieties to new friends (albeit not our usual 100+ varieties) in a smaller venue.

And we’re doing it in two locations! Woodside, Judy’s flagship store, and a new location in Marin at the Marin Country Mart. And yes, the lists will be different as well. Different varieties in each location.

Emily Joubert Home & Garden has long been known for leading in the home style game and for unique offerings for the garden as well. We like that ethos and will showcase 12-15 of the most interesting tomatoes we know for these events May 1st and 2nd. That’s the weekend of the May Day parade and festivities in Woodside and Marin.

We’re always thinking of how we can be more fashionable and exciting and Judy’s store inspires us. So we’ll take the training wheels off and try this new approach this season.

*GET YOUR GARDENS READY. As mentioned above, these smaller plants will need to be put in the ground or your favorite pot right away. But just wait till you see how quickly they stretch out!
